22 June 2011, The Future of PSDM Disciplines, Weesp

The PSDM group of the Biometrics Section (BMS) of the Netherlands Society for Statistics and Operations Research (VVS/OR) cordially invites you for the Upcoming PSDM event:

The Future of PSDM Disciplines

hosted by Abbott Healthcare Products B.V., Weesp

Date: Wednesday June 22nd 2011

Summary:
Clinical Research in The Netherlands is rapidly evolving and as such so are our disciplines. These changes occur on different levels, for example: 1) the roles of Clinical Programmers, Data Managers and Statisticians are changing with new regulations and technologies appearing; 2) the clinical research landscape evolves, with large pharma companies closing offices in The Netherlands or focusing on outsourcing and off shoring, while at the same time many small biotech companies have come into existence; 3) Pharma companies were the traditional pioneers in clinical research, but other fields –such as the food industry- have been catching up last couple of years and are now providing front-runners for clinical research evolution.

Our speakers will present their vision on some of these changes to our disciplines. This meeting will end with a plenary session, lead by a panel who will provide views on concerns, opportunities and challenges in the changing landscape of the Dutch clinical research. The audience is encouraged to participate in this plenary session, sharing their opinion as well.
